Taught By Steph DeMay​

Steph is a graduate student at the University of Idaho and has been dancing at CJ's since her very first week in Moscow as a freshman in 2007. She has been the teaching assistant for UI's Strictly Swing course since 2009, and also teaches workshops at the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival each year, as well as occasional lessons for Swing Devils events. She also serves on the Swing Devils board of directors and loves getting new people excited about swing dancing and music.

Our Swing One Classes will cover the basics of six count swing, aka East Coast Swing. Danced to many different types of music including swinging jazz, blues, rock n' roll, ect. this form of swing dancing is one of the most versatile & can be adapted to fit most styles of music. It is the best dance to learn when you just want to get out on the dance floor and have some fun! You can quickly pick up the basics and will learn many of the essential swing dance steps in a short period of time. After our month long series you will be having fun and feeling confident on the dance floor!

Cost Per Person:

$24 members/ $32 non-members

Price includes a month of hour long classes plus entry into the evening's dance each night that you attend class.

** You may drop in to any class in this series for $6 members/ $8 for non-members. Show up to the class 10 minutes early and check with the instructor to make sure that you have the skills necessary to  join in the class.

***Memberships cost $5, are good for one year (Sept-Aug) and may be purchased at most Swing Devils events. ​
